As we draw the curtain on another academic year at The Villa, we take a moment to shine a well-deserved spotlight on our remarkable Year 2 pupils – the Class of 2025.

These children leave us not only with strong academic foundations, but as confident, compassionate, and resilient young learners. They are a true reflection of everything The Villa stands for – a school where learning is joyful, teamwork is essential, and emotional wellbeing is woven into the fabric of every day.

Throughout their time here, and especially during this final term, our Year 2s have shown us just how much they have grown – in knowledge, in character, and in spirit.

From building rockets during transition week, to supporting each other through PSHE reflections about their big move, they have approached every challenge with curiosity and courage. Their resilience has shone through – particularly over the past few weeks – and they’ve continued to show up for one another as collaborators, team players and friends.

One of the many highlights of their final week was the Year 2 Treat Day, where they explored Lucas Gardens playground and enjoyed a joyful indoor picnic filled with laughter (and chocolate cookies!). Their warmth, humour and appreciation for shared moments reminded us what a special group this is.

And of course, Thursday’s Graduation Assembly was an emotional milestone. Written by their teacher, Mrs Batchelor – who has been instrumental in shaping this cohort – the children brought her words to life with pride and poise. Though she couldn’t be there in person, she sent her love and heartfelt congratulations, and like all of us, couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.

What defines this Year 2 group isn’t just their academic progress – although that, too, has been impressive. It’s their empathy, their resilience, their joyful risk-taking, and their natural ability to support and lift each other up. These are the values we nurture at The Villa, and seeing them flourish in this cohort has been both inspiring and affirming.

As they take their next steps into new schools, new classrooms, and new friendships, we know they go with strong roots – and wings ready to soar. They will always be part of The Villa family, and we can’t wait to hear what they do next.

To our Year 2s: thank you for being such brilliant role models. You carry the heart of The Villa with you.
